This series of bowls and spoons were created to resemble the multitude of colours from melting gelato. They have been made with elaborate yet spontaneous pattens of colour that swirl and run into each other forming new colours within. Their inspiration comes from the numerous “gelaterie” or gelato shops throughout Italy, as they are a colourful affair, where the glass cases are often full of tubs of gelato overflowing and calling to you. I wanted my bowls to have that same feel and using resin as my selected material has worked well. After experimenting extensively with resin within my jewellery practice, I feel this has been a natural progression into object making.
